EKG Instructors

Katy Escobedo

Katy is an attentive, compassionate, and caring instructor with years of teaching experience under her belt. She is educated with Kaplan College as a Medical Assistant in 2000 and has acquired her clinical skills working for hospitals and clinics in various settings for 14 years before starting a career in education. She brings experience, practical sense, calmness and professionalism to the classroom everyday with her gracious smile and firm guidance.
Currently, she teaches the EKG Certification program, CPR/BLS certfication through the American Heart Association, HIPPA & OSHA training and instructs our EKG externship program as well.


Laura Rowland, RN

Laura is a seasoned registered nurse with a 26-year background in nursing, management and education. She has multiple skills in nursing, education, management and administration. As of recent, she earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and taught as a Nursing Instructor and Program manager at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts.
The EKG certification program that we offer is something of value to her because she first volunteered as an EKG tech prior to becoming a nurse. It was in her experience in this field of work that drew her into nursing and  paved her way to a career that has given her various work experiences and opportunities.


Cindy Foster, EKG Workshop Instructor

Cindy has been in Healthcare (Kaiser) for over 25 years. She started as a Clerk in the Out-patient medical records. She worked as a receptionist(front office), Dept secretary(back office), Communication operator (the voice for Kaiser) and finally Ekg Technician. 
She graduated from The Regional Occupational program in 2004. Since then, she completed the basic cardiac monitoring course, basic and advance Ekg course through Sutter Hospital. Her experience of Ekg extends but not limited to adults and pediatric, Myocardial infusion, exercise thallium test, stress echo, treadmill, tilt table test, 24 hour holter monitor, 14 day Zio patch, 30 day event monitor, reading and interpreting holter and event monitors. 
She considers her greatest achievement as being a wife and a mother to her 3 children. Her purpose in life is to provide excellent service and compassion in everything she does.
